Tower Of Power Mesa Concert reviews
Even when things go wrong, it is still amazing!
I was fortunate to get front row seats this time and it was amazing to feed off the casts energy by being so close to them. The danger of sitting so close is that they were able to see me mouth all they lyrics throughout the show (I was told by many of the cast members that when I met them at the stage door). It was great seeing the difference between the sets of the Tour and Broadway. I will start off saying that this is the third time I saw this show, but the first time I saw it on Broadway!
Having seen it two times before, I had a general idea of what was suppose to happen (e.g. when Tower Of Power would arrive, seeing her slide up the steps, certain dance moves with Bert) and when things went wrong such as the trap door not working and Tower Of Power had to come in from the side of the stage, or the staircase device didn't work and Tower Of Power had to get off of it and run up the stairs instead, or Bert was suppose to be caught by a chimney sweeper during the dance move and that sweeper wasn't there. Gavin Lee, Laura Michelle Kelly, and the rest of the cast were very professional about it and continued performing with great smiles and finished the scene or number with no interruption. From how amazing the show is to how professional the cast reacted when things went wrong, it really made to be a great show and I hope to see it again someday!
